1. Who We Are

Informal Lounge ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at informallounge.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

2. Data We Collect

Account Data (via Discord OAuth)

When you log in, we receive from Discord: your Discord user ID, username, display name, email address, and avatar. This is the only login method available.

Profile Data

Information you choose to add to your profile: a custom username, display name, title, bio, social media handles (e.g. Twitch, YouTube, Twitter), custom links, content category tags, theme preferences, and optionally a custom profile picture you upload (stored in Azure Blob Storage).

Application Data

If you submit a membership application, we collect: your content type, how you found us, any social handles you provide, and an optional message. This data is retained for admin review and record-keeping.

Event Data

We record which events you sign up for, are invited to, or are on the standby list for. This is linked to your account.

Authentication Data

We store server-side refresh tokens to keep you logged in. These expire automatically and are periodically cleaned up.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To display your public profile to other members
• To manage event signups, invites, and standby lists
• To review and process membership applications
• To post events to our Discord server (event title, description, and time — no personal data)

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

Discord

We use Discord OAuth for login. Discord's Privacy Policy governs data Discord itself holds.

Twitch & YouTube APIs

We use these APIs server-side to display live status and videos on the site. No personal account data is transmitted to Twitch or YouTube on your behalf.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account exists. Application data is retained indefinitely for administrative records. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 7).

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and/or local storage to store your authentication tokens. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Your Rights

You may request to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate profile data (most of this you can do directly in your profile settings)
• Delete your account and associated data

If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date.
